Matthew (Matt) Lopez is a highly experienced attorney specializing in complex personal injury and wrongful death cases. His practice spans a variety of high-stakes areas, including product liability litigation involving pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, medical negligence, birth injuries, elder abuse, and toxic chemical exposure. Matt is known for his ability to navigate complicated legal matters and deliver favorable outcomes, whether through pre-trial settlements or jury verdicts. His litigation expertise is complemented by his experience in criminal law, having previously served at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Before joining Rueb Stoller Daniel, Matt spent over a decade at another nationally recognized consumer protection law firm where he played a pivotal role in the firm’s mass tort practice focused on defective pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices. Throughout his career, Matt has successfully helped secure recoveries for thousands of clients injured by unsafe and defective products. He has a particular expertise in mass tort litigation, serving in key leadership roles for large-scale, complex consolidated and coordinated proceedings. Matt has been entrusted with roles as Co-Lead, Co-Liaison Counsel, and Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee member in significant mass tort litigation, representing thousands of plaintiffs in complex cases with nationwide implications.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a minor in Biological Sciences, from the University of Colorado Boulder (2003), and earned his Juris Doctorate from Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2008. His deep understanding of both the scientific and legal aspects of his cases allows him to craft compelling arguments and effectively advocate for his clients.
