Amorina Lopez


Amorina handles a variety of cases, including medical negligence, birth injury, product liability and other personal injury and wrongful death actions.  Whether writing a legal brief or appearing in the courtroom, Ms. Lopez is a tenacious advocate for her clients.

 Ms. Lopez has successfully litigated cases involving catastrophic personal injury, birth injury and wrongful death. She is passionate about being the voice for those injured by the negligence of others.  Her quality is evidenced by various multi-million-dollar recoveries she has secured for her clients.  In 2021, Ms. Lopez was featured in the Top Verdict section of the Daily Journal for an $8 million dollar birth injury settlement on behalf of a child that had suffered from severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen at birth. 

In addition to her medical negligence case work, Ms. Lopez has experience handling mass tort cases involving defective drugs and medical devices for clients across the United States.  She has served as Liaison Counsel and a member of Plaintiffs’ Leadership Committees in multi-district litigations in California.  Ms. Lopez has represented and helped achieve recoveries on behalf of hundreds of clients injured by defective medical devices and drugs.

Amorina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in English.  Following graduation, she moved back to Southern California and earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2011.  Ms. Lopez then began working for a nationally recognized plaintiffs’ law firm, Lopez McHugh LLP, where she managed an active case load for ten years. 

Ms. Lopez has been designated as a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for five consecutive years beginning in 2018.  She is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC).

She is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
